In order to run SMLets on a computer it must have some of the SCSM console DLLs installed. Anton Gritsenko wrote this great article about how to install these without the need to install the SCSM console. However, due to some of the changes made to Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2, these steps will no longer work. The problem is you can no longer register DLLs by copying them to the assembly folder. You now have to use the gacutil.exe utility to registry them.

The Visual Studio RC has shown some install issues in some cases, particularly for those who upgrades from VS 11 Beta. These issues are caused by also having TFS 11 Beta server installed on the same machine. This is not a supported scenario. What is good is that if you forget to uninstall TFS Beta 11 first, and get these issues, all that is required is to uninstall TFS 11 Beta, and VS 2012 RC will start working correctly!
There is a lot involved. Make sure for SQL Server 2014 you add the DLLs to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\120\ folder just like you did I did with the 2012 but a new folder for 2014. It all depends on the GAC Util. If you have done this on a development machine then you can use the Visual Studio Command Prompt and use the GAC util from there. If you have this on a window server the get the windows server SDK and use the GAC util from there. 2ff7e9595c
